Positive Lives

Positive Lives is a professional coaching practice that offers career coaching, personal development and leadership coaching.

International Women's Day at the Monastery in Gorton.

The pleasure of co-delivering a two-part workshop - The Storyteller Within - with my colleague and friend, Lizzie Gates, of The Lonely Furrow.

Reflections & Emergent Space - then, Vision and Values-in-Action.

We create a reflective space for busy and aspiring women.  I read an Indian folktale of a broken pot, whose flaw leaves a legacy of bright flowers by the path. Lizzie reads from Baba Yagar, full of dark fear and triumph.

Here is my "Threads" poem from IWD on 8 March 2010; drawn from threads of conversation. Stories connect us.  Our voices are heard.

The Colour of Her Company
A power - a positive energy. A day of positivity, just for her.

To celebrate her friend, to be part of her; this has special meaning. And she wants to feel close to her daughter.

She feels powerful, feels bright. The vibrancy and the freshness, feeling alive.

These are the colours of her company.  A special Holy Island - the world in which she works. These are the colours that reflect who she is.

(I am trying to remember the story ... how we are expected to dress.)

So he buys her lots of things; bright things that he does not really like. But she loves all of it.

The necklace falls ... When things like that happen, she knows - It's for a reason.
